Christmas is approaching at Alabama’s Great Natural Attraction, and we have the perfect idea to spend time with your family here. Santa in the Village is hosted at Arab Historic Village and offers the perfect Christmas experience for everyone. Santa in the Village is every Friday and Saturday night starting November 24 and ends December 23. The hours are from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Here are a few reasons why you should join us at the Village this holiday season.

Write Your Santa Letters

Whether you have been naughty or nice, head to the Winslett Barn within the Village to write your letters to the North Pole. There is a special post office set up to make sure they get to Santa ASAP. While you are there, you can make sure your name is written down on the nice list, too!

Santa Claus Will be There

That’s right! After you write your letters, you can find Ol’ Saint Nick in the Hunt School taking special note of children’s Christmas wishes. There will be opportunities for everyone to take pictures with Santa and he might even give you a special treat, too.

Grab Reindeer Treats

Santa couldn’t make it to your home without reindeer! And your kiddos will receive special reindeer food made at the Smalley Grist Mill within the Village. Don’t forget to put it out on Christmas Eve to make sure they are filled up to deliver gifts for the rest of the world. Your family can also visit Phillips Blacksmith Shop to get reindeer shoes as a keepsake.

Yummy Treats for Yourself

Next to the gristmill is the place to grab some hot chocolate and popcorn for a snack. You can even grab a scavenger hunt to complete and get a free box of popcorn. Smith’s Country Store will be open with sweet treats as well.

Christmas Carolers

Head over to the Rice Church to hear all of your favorite Christmas songs being sung with cheer. Don’t be shy as you can even sing along with the groups.

The the the the THE GRINCH

The one and only loathing, wallowing in self-pity Grinch will be at the Boyd Farmhouse within the Village. He will crack a few crude jokes but all in good fun. The Grinch also agreed to take photos, so make sure to bring him an onion!

Over 2 Million Christmas Lights

Adjacent to Santa in the Village is Christmas in the Park. The Arab City Park is donned in over 2 million glistening Christmas lights that are on every night from November 24 until December 31. They kick on at Sunset and stay on until 9:30 p.m. Take a walk through the park any time to see the magical display.

Santa in the Village is celebrating their 13th year of celebrating Christmas. There is also Christmas ornament decorating and a train ride for your family. The cost to participate is $6 per person, and children 2 and under get in free. (Cash or check only) Santa in the Village is weather permitting. Check out our event calendar for more holiday fun.
