Celebrate the Year of Alabama Food Around Lake Guntersville

Not to brag, but the Lake Guntersville and Marshall County area is blessed with some of the most delicious restaurants. So, we were excited when the Alabama Tourism Department announced that 2024 is the Year of Alabama Food. From the best barbecue, birria tacos, fresh seafood, chocolate gravy and everything in between, you can find something to satisfy your taste buds when you choose to #explorelakeguntersville.

Grab your forks and come hungry, because you’ll be salivating taking a look at the restaurants across our area. To try real Alabama barbecue, you should try Wilson’s in Albertville or maybe Hog Leg Barbecue in Arab. You could possibly be looking for the best views, and if so, we suggest any of the great spots at City Harbor in Guntersville. Fresh seafood six hours from the beach? OH YEAH, we got it. Crawmama’s has the best hole in the wall atmosphere. An Alabama favorite, Wintzell’s, could be your choice too.

Did you notice that we said chocolate gravy? Well, we have that at Homecoming and Company, and it is best served over their homemade biscuits. Thank us later. If you want the best home southern cooking, you should head over to Boaz the Boaz Cafe. Looking for a burger? The list is endless, and you should make it a challenge to try them all: Charburger, Beef ‘O’ Bradys, L’Rancho, Midas Burger or possibly the GridIron.

Looking for tacos? Gordo’s Way in Albertville is the place for the best birria tacos. Sofia’s in Arab will make guacamole right at your table. You might be in the mood for some fine dining, well lucky for you, Old Town Stockhouse and the Rock House Eatery will make the perfect date night. Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth? The finest homemade ice cream will be waiting on you at La Michoancan.

Hungry for pizza? We got tons of options there too like Tomato Tomato Pizza Club, Pizza Ed and Bootleggers too. There are some Cajun roots here in North Alabama too with Papa Dubi’s in Albertville and J&A Lil New Orleans in Arab.

To help celebrate this whole year of Alabama food, we are going to showcase a different restaurant every Friday to help y’all get to know these restaurants that the locals love and the visitors always come back for. We are calling this Foodie Fridays! We will be going from one end of Marshall County to the to other spreading the love and raising awareness for food. Follow along our new social media page to see who will be highlighted each Friday. And if you are out to eat in a restaurant in Marshall County, show us your meals by using #MCFoodieFridays.
