The Perfect Spring Weekend at Lake Guntersville

Flowers are blooming, the temperature is rising and the events are plentiful! Spring is here at Lake Guntersville, and we got just the perfect weekend for you to come out see the area. Book your stay for April 24 through 27 (or longer if you want!) to experience fun festivals, stunning views and some good food too. 

Place to Stay

First things first, you need a place to stay. If you are looking for a unique yet relaxing place, try the Henry House located in Downtown Guntersville. Or bring your camping gear to pitch at one of over 1,000 campsites across the area. If you’re a points person with hotels, we have a new Hilton property that just opened at City Harbor, the Home2 Suites.

Events Happening

The events are plentiful for this particular weekend. If you arrive on Thursday night, make sure to go downtown for the Concert in the Park hosted by the Mountain Valley Arts Council. April 24 will be the band Foster. It is from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Just bring your own chair. On Friday the 25, the Downtown Guntersville Spring Fling begins. Vendors will line the streets and shops within the downtown will be open with certain specials. Visitors can also find yummy treats, different children’s activities and more. This is free. Their festival continues onto Saturday as well. The Marshall County Child Advocacy Center will be having their Rock the Block on Saturday morning as well. Saturday the 26, also begins Art on the Lake over on Sunset Drive at the Guntersville Rec Center. This event showcases fine artists and craftsmen from throughout the southeast and beyond. In addition, there are food vendors, outdoor games and rides, and a bake shop. This is a two-day event that continues on Sunday, April 27. This is rain or shine. It is just $2 per person over 13. 

Good Food

All the fun will have you hungry, so worry less. We got a few of many great options for you to check out while you are here. Pizza? Check out the one and only Pizza Ed in Downtown Guntersville. Good Southern cooking? Homecoming and Company is located in the downtown area too. Or maybe walk over to City Harbor where you will options from burgers to steaks to brunch to Mexican. And get a sweet treat afterward at Kilwin’s too.
